Vaughan Self-Priming Chopper Pumps are a unique design used in municipal and industrial industries to handle solids laden waste when the source liquid is below the pump suction. The air in the suction line is removed by the pump's venting capabilities, drawing the solids laden fluid into the impeller. The unique impeller/chopper design cuts up solids and pumps out the resultant slurry in one step, thus reducing the need for upstream solids reducing equipment. The reduced slurry easily passes through the downstream piping
system thus reducing the potential for balling and plugging.
