Axial and Mixed Flow Pumps

Axial flow/Mixed Flow pumps are typically used for very large flow at low heads for applications such as flood control, large capacity transfer, and pollution control systems. Axial flow pumps are provided in a variety of arrangements to accommodate the application. The most common installations are vertical pumps such as lifting water over retention dams or dykes. Axial flow and mixed flow pumps are similar in design and capacity with mixed flow propellers providing higher discharge heads.
